Acupuncture for pain relief
If you are struggling with pain, acupuncture is one of the most natural and non-invasive ways to relieve it. It has a growing number of scientifically proven results. Acupuncture is personalized, safe, and effective, allowing you to enjoy a pain-free life.
The problem of pain
In our stressful world, many people have chronic pain. Whether it is in your back, joints, or elsewhere, pain stops us from enjoying life to the fullest. This frustrating problem often leads to other issues. Pain makes it hard to exercise and do certain activities. And as time goes on, the body’s health deteriorates. Not coincidentally, chronic pain has even been linked to depression. Even worse, the most effective pain-killing drugs are addictive and dangerous opioids. Chronic pain is a complex problem that can cause undue mental suffering.
Acupuncture’s benefits
Acupuncture is a highly effective, natural way to relieve pain. In a clinical study with over 18,000 participants, acupuncture outperformed no treatment at all. According to Chinese medicine, acupuncture works by affecting the flow of qi in the body. Using needles in specific acupoints alters the body’s chemicals and alleviates pain.
How we help
When you arrive at an appointment, the doctor will ask about your pain, symptoms, and medical history. She will then perform a full-body exam: checking your tongue, pulse, and points of concern. This is to help personalize your treatment. The doctor typically inserts four to ten hair-thin needles, around half an inch deep. The needles are left in place for 10 to 30 minutes while you rest. A normal treatment regime includes 16 weekly sessions.
